Channel & Support Systems
General Introduction
The Aitkens range of Channel Support Systems, are provided to supply an economical, flexible and efficient method of universal support and fixing for cable trunking, cable tray, cable ladder, lighting systems, pipework and many other electrical and mechanical installations. Generally the system is produced in a nominal 40mm format with linear sections available in 3 and 6m lengths, with a comprehensive range of ex-stock fixings and brackets to suit, provided to comply with the requirements of BS69646, where appropriate.
The systems Bracketry is produced, unless otherwise state, with Ø 14mm fixing holes.
Standard Material Finishes & Specification
Systems Lengths are provided from 2.5mm thickness (AE100 range) pre-galvanised material, to EN10142 (BS2989), with a zinc coating weight of 275g/m2 (Z275), giving a nominal coating thickness of 15µ (microns) or 0.015mm. 1.5mm thickness (AE200 range) is also avaiable.
Systems Fixings (high tensile screws, nuts and washers etc.) are provided with a metric coarse thread format in complainace with BS3692/DIN 933 grade 8.8, being electro-zinc plated.
System Bracketry are generally produced from nominal 6mm thickness hot-rolled mild steel to BS1449/4360, being post-galvanised in accordance with BSEN ISO 1451 : 1999 with a coating weight of 610g/m2, giving a nominal coating thickness of 86µ (microns) o r0.086mm.
